Community Education

What is Community Education?
Kerry Education and training Board in conjunction with the community and voluntary sector organise and deliver courses in the villages and parishes of County Kerry.  This ensures that all adults in Kerry have an opportunity to participate in education programmes. These course are provided free of charge.

Kerry Education and Training Board’s Community Education programme aims to provide locally based education programme that is responsive to the local community’s needs.  A programme that is accessible, inclusive and culturally appropriate will be developed in consultation with the local community.  The Community Education Programme is learning that takes place in the community, embraces the principals of empowerment, consideration, collective consciousness, social justice and equality of access.

Community Education Classes for Autumn 2018

Drama                                                                   Monday 8 pm – 10 pm                8 weeks

This is Drama for FUN! No experience is necessary for this course, the programme offers a wonderful opportunity to meet new people and experience something different.

Get Better Use From Your Tablet And Smart Phone    Tues 7.30 – 9.30 pm       6 weeks

 Learn how to get the most from your devices, a short course to give you tips on using the features of your tablet and smart phone.

Zumba                                                         Tuesdays 11am & 7pm                      6 weeks

Wood Carving                             Mon 7.15 – 9.15pm Commencing 8th October x 6 wks

Using Your Smartphone & Tablet    Tues 7-9pm Commencing 9th October x 6 wks

Introduction to Pottery                       Thursday 1-4pm                                   5 weeks

Come Dine with Me                      Day & Time TBC  (Evening)               4 weeks
