Community Education

What is Community Education?
Kerry Education and training Board in conjunction with the community and voluntary sector organise and deliver courses in the villages and parishes of County Kerry.  This ensures that all adults in Kerry have an opportunity to participate in education programmes. These course are provided free of charge.

Kerry Education and Training Board’s Community Education programme aims to provide locally based education programme that is responsive to the local community’s needs.  A programme that is accessible, inclusive and culturally appropriate will be developed in consultation with the local community.  The Community Education Programme is learning that takes place in the community, embraces the principals of empowerment, consideration, collective consciousness, social justice and equality of access.

Community Education Classes for Spring   2021

Introduction to Pottery

This course will commence on 22nd January 2021 and run for five Friday mornings until 5th March 2021. Complete beginners most welcome, all materials will be supplied.

Bog Wood Carving

This course will commence on 3rd February 2021 and run for six Wednesday afternoons until 23/03/2021. You will work with a variety of bog woods and learn basic carving techniques.
