Community Education

What is Community Education?
Kerry Education and training Board in conjunction with the community and voluntary sector organise and deliver courses in the villages and parishes of County Kerry.  This ensures that all adults in Kerry have an opportunity to participate in education programmes. These course are provided free of charge.

Vision…
Kerry Education and Training Board’s Community Education programme aims to provide locally based education programme that is responsive to the local community’s needs.  A programme that is accessible, inclusive and culturally appropriate will be developed in consultation with the local community.  The Community Education Programme is learning that takes place in the community, embraces the principals of empowerment, consideration, collective consciousness, social justice and equality of access.

Community Education Classes for Autumn 2023

Sewing & Restyling

This course will commence on 20thSeptember 2023 and run for six Wednesday evenings 7pm  – 9.30pm . This will give you a chance to learn the skills of altering and updating your clothing. Complete beginners welcome. Apply here

Yoga

Chair Yoga

This course commences on 20th September 2022 and runs for 10 weeks  12-1pm  on Wednesday afternoons . Suitable for all abilities Apply here

Genealogy & Family History

Discover how to research your family tree and discover records and records skills to help you connect with your ancestors. This course will run for 10 weeks, Monday evenings 7 to 9.30pm for 10 weeks starting 25th September . Apply here

Baking, Cakes, Bread and Savoury Snacks

This pracatical baking course will run on Thursdays 10am to 1pm fro 8 weeksstarting 28/09/23     Apply here

Pottery for Fun!

This course will commence on 3rd October 2022 and run for 9 Tuesday evenings 7pm -9.30pm. Complete beginners most welcome, all materials will be supplied. Apply here

Introduction to Creative Printmaking

This course will run on Monday evenings  for 9 weeks starting 2nd October 2023. During this hands on course you will learn the basics of printmaking using a variety of materials & techniques.  Apply here

Introduction to Canine First Aid
